Description

I experience performance issues on multiple games (tried Honkai: Star Rail and FFXIV, both are run through XWayland and Wine / Proton). I also experienced the issue with 0.41.2 and origin/main. The system info is from the first bad commit. My GPU seems to be working as nvidia-smi shows energy consumption and all.

Have you tried running games using another DE's besides hyprland? I just think that this is not hyrpland-specific issue. There are lots of posts with performance issues on nvidia cards all over the linux community . You can check hyprland wiki and try to use these fixes, but i m not quite sure that they can help you

Downgrading xorg-xwayland didn't solve the issue.

Have you tried running games using another DE's besides hyprland?

I'll try with sway and keep you updated.

@enk-it It worked with Sway, even when the proprietary drivers of NVidia are marked as unsupported.

Same issue here I'm running on a laptop with secondary screen, there are less performance issues when browser is not offloaded on gpu and when not on screen (switching desktop sometimes helps) Can sometimes make the entire laptop crash and need reboot I'll add logs next time i have the issue
