quote component text disappears #130

Hi I know I have a learning curve but after watching the beta video it seems like it should be easy to add a quote. etc. But when I add text to the quote it disappears after I hit insert. thoughts??

I am also having a hard time entering an image with a caption. when i update and preview my post, it just has the work "image"

someone else has reported this, I'm just having a hard time duplicating it.

what theme do you have Kim?

I am not sure if this is suppose to happen, but when I go to add another component, I get this error message...

Nesting components within the visual interface is not supported.

I have Kerouac.

Do you have any text in the editor? That will happen if you still have the cursor inside of another component, or still have another component selected. Try inserting some text or pressing shift-enter to get to a new line.

There's a lot of restrictions in TinyMCE (part of WordPress) that we're battling.

Weird. I could enter a new component above my text, but I cannot below the quote component. shift/enter made the quote component go to a solid color and froze the "thingy" (sorry I have little computer vocab) that shows where you are typing. screen shot 2014-09-05 at 2 49 52 pm

if you are trying to enter another component directly beneath an existing one, press enter. that will get you to the next line, and you'll then be able to add another component.

we're aware of some cases where you can actually delete the component placeholder and will see about patching this up.

no worries! We'll more than likely have a few tutorial videos just to cover some basic stuff like this. thanks again for testing we really appreciate it!

I'll continue to work on this quote bug and have a few team members test too.

Nick, it really looks like there is something going on with all the components and kerouac. the parallax, the image, and the quote components do not show any text. I hope you can figure this all out as I am SO IN LOVE WITH THIS!! and my mind is going nuts on how to use it. Good luck and super awesome job! You and your team are brilliant! Kim

well that kind of makes me happy to know as I have been puzzled by it. It seems the image component is doing the same thing. I will just wait until you release 1.1 and see if it fixes the issues I am having.

Do you have a link to your site? I'm not seeing any issues with any of the components within Kerouac.

On second thought i was just able to replicate the quote one, will continue to debug here.

Hi Nick, Should I redownload the plug in? Or Kerouac? I was having a hard time with captions in the image component and with the parallax component. the text was not showing up over the image. thanks kim

Nick, I feel like a broken record, but now I cannot get the video component to work from the "self" selection. sorry.
