Update site works for me (Eclipse 3.7.2, Windows). AFAIK content.xml is not
required, the content.jar should get precedence (content.jar contains
content.xml). Please let me know if this error keeps re-occurring, it may be a
problem specific with Mac.
As a work-around, you should still be able to use the dropins download instead.

i was not able to us the dropins (maybe osx fault, i donk know). After all i
created a local update site (with all file and directories), unzipped the
content.jar in context.xml and it worked.

I pushed an uncompressed content.xml to the update-site. Could you retry with a
clean 3.7.2 install if this works for you?

from marketplace didnt work. Form update site work only if i dont put https in
front of it.
Maybe can be a proxy problem (i'm behind a proxy at work).
The last thing to notice is if i go to
https://mybatiseditor.eclipselabs.org.codespot.com/git/org.eclipselabs.mybatised
itor.updatesite/ with chrome, the https thing is broken with "The identity of
this website has not been verified.
• Server's certificate does not match the URL." message.

I am going to change the default to http. The Google certificate is broken for
a while now, and http seems enough for update sites anyway. Thanks for
reporting!
