I was wondering how difficult it would be to increase the resolution of the projected maps in terms of decreasing the cell size.
So far the limit is at 1 degree per pixel, which I think is quite crude (360x180) in terms of resolution.
While I am not sure how much this will improve the surface analysis, I can imagine that detailed features would be easier spotted with higher resolution of the images. Applying smoothening to these low res maps further removes high res detail.
Would such an increase in resolution in principle feasible or compatible with the employed projections. So far I do not see why it wouldn't. The scripts seem to be quite rigorous in terms of making sure the cell size is a multiple of 180 and not smaller then 1 degree per cell.
