1. sendSMS to US number.voice.sendSMS("+1AreaCode-restofthe no.).
2. I am invoking this API from India, is that allowed AFAIK i can make
calls/sms from google voice from US only.
3. Please let me know if the phone number format is correct

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
SMS should be sent. Get the following error
Exception in thread "main" java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response
code: 500 for URL: https://www.google.com/voice/sms/send/

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

It might not work in India. I had problems in Belgium. Does anyone else have
experience with this?

Deployed the app in Google App Engine and put some loggers in Voice.java.
From the logs looks like Authentication was successful, but while sending SMS
getting 500.

com.techventus.server.voice.Voice login:
https://www.google.com/accounts/ClientLogin - OK
com.techventus.server.voice.Voice login: Logged in to Google - Auth token
received
com.techventus.server.voice.Voice get: https://www.google.com/voice/ - OK
com.techventus.server.voice.Voice setRNRSEE: Successfully Received rnr_se.
com.datarenderer.server.servlet.SMSSenderServlet doPost: Sending SMS
com.techventus.server.voice.Voice sendSMS: SMS response

Any clue what I am doing wrong ?
The code that I am using
Voice voice = new Voice(userName,password);
voice.sendSMS(destinationNumber, message);

This might explain it:
http://code.google.com/p/pygooglevoice/issues/detail?id=60

Looks like Google Voice now expects a cookie back.

That link doesn't relate to the Java API provided. I'm getting the same error
sending an SMS with 1.14 jar - voice.sendSMS("XXXXXXXXX", "hello", "343sf").
Note - the source code doesn't clearly say what the "ID" is :)
