Current Behavior

Things to note

Starting i3 with a brand new user seemed normal, all windows looked ok (as in default) and had titles.

It seems like polybar is also broken, and I suspect the cause might be related. The symptoms I am seeing with polybar:

Expected Behavior

Here is an example of how another theme would look on my system.

Reproduction Instructions

I wish I knew. This started happening after a recent reboot, and I did a couple system upgrades since the reboot before that.

Environment

Output of i3 --moreversion 2>&-:

I don’t see a link to logs.i3wm.org. Did you follow https://i3wm.org/docs/debugging.html? (In case you actually provided a link to a logfile, please ignore me.)

GideonWolfe commented 3 years ago

Solved: i3 and polybar were both referencing a color file that had vanished for some reason!
