Member Vote: short-term permit langauge #154

JodyR: Two issues that I think need to be addressed, regarding the self-signed permit language. Not sure if these need an actual vote or if they can just be changed by someone, but I'd like to put it out there first.

  1. The "picture" should be of the project, showing what it looks like and where it is being stored. The pic of the permit alone is kinda useless, imo.

  2. There needs to be clarification about what is "zone" and what is "commons". Self-permits aren't supposed to be used inside zones, but they are being used there so often, clearly the rules need a rewrite for clarity, or else restructuring. (Maybe they should be allowed inside zones, if you also message the zone slack, maybe?)

These are worthwhile considerations.

To establish context; the "project storage" is currently unavailable due to volume constraints. That fact alone drives conflict with regards to "validity" of short-term parking permits. This has been true since I joined 6 months ago.

Pictures are optional. Though, the langauge of the permit can/should express the intent of the ideal communication. Jody's suggestion is valid.

I agree with 'zone-specific' considerations for parking permits.

More-so, I suggest a 'last-active' tag for projects so that it can be considered when issuing tickets and vacating assets to lost-and-found/graveyard.
