Turn quality up until you get a remux.
I have it at the max (1080p@20mb)...not sure what else to do = /
You haven't given me any media information or logs, so it's hard to tell. You could try using the plexinc branch which goes up to 40Mbps ~ https://github.com/plexinc/plexconnect/tree/new-movie-sections
I would be more than happy to give you that info....how/where can I get the logs? Here is the media information I see from VLC for the The Dark Knight 1080p file that is playing with a degraded video quality (pixelization). Any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks again
Video Codec: H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (avc1) Resolution: 1920x1080 Frame rate: 23.976215 Decoded format: Planar 4:2:0 YUV
Audio Codec: DTS Audio (dts) Channels: 3F2R/LFE Sample Rate: 48000 Hz Bitrate: 1536 kb/s
I just tried using that other branch of files and no luck... not only did i not get transcoding resolution options on the "settings" tab, but I also lost my search tab.
What firmware are you running?
im using the latest (5.2.1) on my appletv3
I am going to close this because i want to keep this kind of chat to the forums but try the latest code, as it has had a number of improvements related to playback and may resolve your issue. NB be aware that you should start from scratch and not use your old settings.py file, this has been replaced with settings.cfg, which is generated on first run. If you continue to have problems:
http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/forum/136-appletv-plexconnect/ https://github.com/iBaa/PlexConnect/wiki/How-to-report-an-issue
We now only want issues to be opened on Github if someone is prepared to contribute code.
Is there a way to watch high resolution MKV video files straight from a networked PC, rather than trans-coding/down-converting it. I have a 106" projector screen and when I play 1080p MKV files straight form my WDTV Live Media Player it looks flawless on there, but when using Plexconnect with my AppleTV3 I can see tons of pixelization (especially darker scenes) That would make this software complete if you ask me :) thanks!
