QOS for dividing download speed between more PC #5

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
I run Jdownloader on PC1 so QOS run very well (after downloading 512kB speed
will drop to 100kB/s ; Rule 12-Class Low, see atchm. pictures) but at same time
on PC2 I wanna download something small (few MB, such a Windows updates etc.)
and there I got initial download speed only 20-30kB/s and which slowly
decreasing and mostly this download ends with 0kB speed=timeout what´s mean
stopping and broken file/download.

What is the expected output?
Dividing of bandwidth.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Tomato Firmware v1.28.0020 Teaman-SDHC-VLAN ND USB VPN.trx

I guess Qos1.jpg was taken from qos-settings.asp and Qos2.jpg was taken from
qos-classify.asp, right?

So... did you notice that above the list of rules on page qos-classify.asp it
says... "Outbound Direction"?

Unfortunately, there's no such fine-granularity regarding QoS settings for
"Incoming" traffic (at least, I'm not aware of anything like that). There /is/
some L7 matching/filtering available (but that's on the Advanced ->
Conntrack/Netfilter page).

In any case: perhaps... you might have any extra/additional QoS scripts/rules
being loaded by some custom script (i.e. saved on nvram/jffs/etc... ?)

1, correct
2, yes, but I'm not talking about ¨Outgoing Direction but about ¨Inbound¨
3, For me it´s interesting that when I tested another
firm.(tomato-NDUSB-1.28.7632.3-... ver.) where download speed between PCs was
divided with QOS very well [it´s possible to say that it was 50%(PC1) :
50%(PC2) at the same time]. But there was problem with QOS jumps between the
thresholds (such 60kB-120kB-90kB-42kB-180kB etc. = Jdownloader´s problem with
correct time estimating; jumps between within 2-3hours, what wasn´t true ; see
atch.). Another interesting thing I didn´t meet with this problem at you.
4, No, I don´t use QOS scripts which you mentioned

This one is looking very hard to hunt/track down - specially since Teaman-ND
has pretty much the same code for QoS as 'plain' Tomato - but this might be
slightly different on Toastman-RT builds...

Still - something just occurred to me: on QoS/Basic Settings
(qos-settings.asp), there's a special setting regarding the QoS Qdisc Scheduler
(pfifo/sfq). I wonder if perhaps this particular thingie might be possibly
related to what you've been experiencing?

Thanks,

And another one issue with QOS:

I created rules for L7-Httpvideo :

A, Size less than 20MB(bigger download speed)
B, Size bigger(slow download speed)

But I´ve never come to rule B, I remain always on rule A. I tested this issue
on another firm.-and wasn´t problem(but I wasn´t therewith happy as with
yours :-)) )

Cannot verify/repeat/reproduce these problems. Please try a new/more recent
version. Thanks.
