Slowness/crashing in games #174

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Select any game in your ROM collection.
2. Play it for a while.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Certain events in the game run more slowly than they should. Some events are
slowed down just a little, and some a lot. After playing long enough, the game
may even crash altogether.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I am using RCB 2.0.10 in XBMC 13.1 on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

Please provide any additional information below.
The game I saw slowness in was for PlayStation, and the game that crashed was
for SNES. When opened using the emulator itself as opposed to RCB, both games
work just fine. I wouldn't be surprised if this was caused by a memory leak
somewhere.

Depending on your hardware it could just be too much to have XBMC and the
emulator running side by side. This is what the solo mode in RCB was made for.
Did you already try this?

I looked for the solo mode option, but it said "Windows only". I'm using Ubuntu.

What you have seen is just an additional parameter in solo mode (use
vb-script). Solo mode in general also works on Linux. See here for more info:

solo_mode

I've just tried that now. With solo mode enabled, nothing happens.
