what is the last thing you see? what is the last thing you click? is the game
already in the wii? did it work with a different version?

Okay: full analysis:
1. Open Homebrew Channel on my 4.2U Wii (Ninty upgraded)
2. Open Brawl+ Updatifier (with meta.xml & beta icon.png, if you want them!)
3. Using Gamecube Controller, open Play Menu
4. When it asks for load method, go to DVD and press A
When all that is over, the program does nothing, like I never pressed A.
Should I
have pressed Start or something? I tested this with the disc in when it
started and
without.
Also worth noting, when I pressed B in the Play Menu, it went black like it was
exiting to the Homebrew Channel, but it stayed black, and the Wii was still
fully on.

Oh yeah, sorry for not saying this, but this is the ORIGINAL NTSC disc, I have
not
had access to a backup (nor have I obtained a DL disc) or a different region
disc or
Wii.

Again, sorry, NTSC-U (NOT NTSC-J!)

ok. it sounds like for you for some reason it is trying to load IOS222 to play
the
game. and since you have 4.2, the IOS222 on your system is a stub and this
causes it
to hang up. can you try different versions of this program and see if they all
behave the same.

also make sure you are picking the top left choice when you try to play the
game. it
will use IOS36(which you definitely have a working copy). the top right and
bottom
choice both use IOS222 (which you dont have a working copy).

@ comment 5: OK, I get what you are saying. However, when I try to load any
Hack
Apps (IOS Downgrader, cMIOS, cIOS Installer) the Wii does exactly the same
thing as
pressing B (on Gamecube controller) in Brawl+ Updatifier. I will try different
versions. However, is there any advantage by loading through B+U, or is Gecko
OS
1.9.3 the best at this stage? Also, I am loading hack apps through
WiiExplorer, not
HBC.
@ comment 6: It is really hard to tell which one is highlighted because of the
poorly constrasting colors, but I've tried loading like 5 times, and I've been
absolutely sure I highlighted DVD. Also, the program didn't hang or become
unresponsive, it just acted like I never press A on DVD. And no, my controller
is
fine and has always been.

use the latest version. it has dummy hints for buttons if you are using a GC
controller. if you are using a classic controller, just point at the screen and
click the button. it sounds to me like you are trying to use the cIOS which is
stubbed still.

Sorry to be rude, but DO YOU EVEN GET WHAT I AM SAYING?!?
"What version of the product are you using? r11"
"on Gamecube controller"
"It is really hard to tell which one is highlighted because of the
poorly constrasting colors, but I've tried loading like 5 times, and I've been
absolutely sure I highlighted DVD."

if you are using r11, it puts dumbass letters on all the buttons if a GC
controller
is plugged in. there is no need to highlite anything. every button is mapped
to 1
button.

By highlite, I meant on the screen where you select the loading method, AFTER
you
press Y.

Okay, sorry, I found the problem.
You can't start Brawl+ with a GC controller, you have to use a Wii Remote to
choose
it. Nevermind!
