As you may know, Configurator uses MSP, typically over VCP. It can also use a uart. So it sounds like either you don't have MSP enabled on the port you're using, or the port is not correctly defined in your target.

Hi inav contributors, I have a problem with the custom flight controller after porting. I successfully built firmware for a custom controller, but it doesn't connect with the configurator.
