Is it a mod compatibility issue?

Minecraft version

1.20.4

Describe the issue

I tried creating a horizontal nether over the water. Then stand in the nether and fish from nether into the normal world.

The fishing line isn't visible through the portal and when I jumped through the portal with the line thrown the game crashed. Should be easy to replicate.
