With this Pull Request a ported version of the Model Fix by @qouteall is implemented.

It fixed the issues with mekanism and Applied Energistics.

how do i go about porting this to the latest version? I asked on the actual mod forum itself and got no reply and i have no idea what im actually doing

Clone, Gradle Sync, Jar Task on the main source set. Have a look at forge docs getting started page.
