Interface is dead - Make plugin compatible with jQuery UI #5

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

Hi,

Well this is not a real problem, more an request:

Interface is dead, it wont be developed any further. Instead of this jQuery
UI is born. It's the next step (the creators of interface made this) and is
the official UI plugin for jQuery, as Scriptaculous is for Prototype.

So my question; I like this plugin, is it going to be compatible with the
UI plugin?

Thx

I have the same question.

The answer is: probably. I will begin working into it after I graduate (a few
weeks
from now). I will check with the jQuery UI folks if they would like me to add
the
nesting functionality to the Sortable they are developing.

The problem I see with jQuery UI, for now, is that it is still not ready for
use. And
it is not even close in terms of functionality to what Interface provides. Their
Sortables are still very slow, much worse than that of Interface's.

Once the equivalent of the current NestedSortable is implemented using jQuery
UI,
making the NestedSortable Widget use it should be very easy.

Hi, any news on this?
It seems that jQuery UI went forward at a steady gait.

After all, it's in a development and actively spreading.

I'm in need of this functionality to upgrade an Interface/NestedSortables app
to a
jQuery UI (to take advantage of new features and jQuery 1.2 compatibility). I
would
be willing to contribute financially to see this happen sooner rather than
later.
Contact me if interested.

Forget about nestedsortables, use this one.

@nakkeja How is that an alternative? It doesn't do nested sorting.
