Empty! How to set up? #24

I just put the .app file into my applications folder and it comes up completely 
empty! From what I understand it should automatically pick up my calendars in 
iCal but there is nothing. I shouldn't think so but would it have anything to 
do with my calendars running off the iCloud server? There seems to be no help 
function anywhere. Can someone please help? Thanks, Sendy
