Animations take a bit of time to load (which is completely natural), but is there any way we can tell the user that something is loading, instead of just looking like a static image? Maybe a loading bar / ball / message?

I think I've found a way to accomplish this. What I'd like to know is which one would you prefer me to do? Loading bar / ball or message?
