I don't see the AVG toolbar in IE. All packages are updated once in 2 months.

Sorry, it's not the AVG toolbar, it's the Video Clipgrab toolbar. (AVG must be
coming from another app then). But this toolbar is also unwanted.

As far as I can see there is no way to install the toolbar without the program.
What if somebody uses the toolbar?
I would disable the toolbar and un-install it together with the ClipGrab.

the toolbar is not installed in Firefox without your permission. In IE it is
easy to disable it. It can be removed by running "C:\Program Files
(x86)\ClipGrab\uninstall.exe". This would just take too much time to figure out
how to remove the toolbar.
You could try to contact the developers at

Yeah, I thought it would be hard work. In any case, I made a mistake. My real
problem is something in the repo is installing AVG Toolbar & other stuff, which
is a notoriously difficult thing to get uninstalled. I initially thought it was
ClipGrab, but I was wrong. I'm still trying to figure out which package
installs the AVG crap. I was hoping there would be a simple command line
parameter to indicate that one doesn't want the crapware.

I entered a new idea in UserVoice:
http://clipgrab.uservoice.com/forums/37083-clipgrab/suggestions/3671324-please-s
plit-the-ie-firefox-toolbar-installation-f
I somehow missed the "ClipGrab Toolbar" entry in the control panel and will
change the uninstall script so it removes the toolbar.
The first step should be in my opinion to at least add warnings to all software
descriptions that are in the repository like this:
