Request to add new apps #28

Hello
Could you if possible, add the following apps to the installer:

1. Unlocker (http://www.filehippo.com/download_unlocker/ - mirror site)

2. Ashampoo Burning Studio 6 Free
(http://www.ashampoo.com/en/chf/pin/0710/Offline/Ashampoo-Burning-Studio-6)

3. Comodo Internet Security Free
(http://www.comodo.com/home/download/download.php?prod=cis)

4. WindowsLiveMessenger 2011 offline setup
(http://g.live.com/1rewlive4-all/en/wlsetup-all.exe)

5. Messenger Plus (http://www.msgplus.net/Downloads/MsgDetailDownload)

Also is it possible for end-users like me for example to contribute by adding
existing exes from our pcs?

cheers.

I can add the applications.

What do you mean by "add existing exes"?

I meant those exes which I've downloaded and stored on my hard-disk, like I
have the exe for Unlocker, but cannot add it myself to the apps list.
So is it possible, may be in the long run, to allow users to contribute their
own exes by uploading directly to the app list from here maybe, or create a
special interface to allow upload of software to the app, but reviewed by
someone first in case of malware etc?

OK, you want to somehow contribute to the default repository. First of all,
applications are not hosted here (at code.google.com), but on the sites of the
corresponding software manufacturers. Example: "Mathematics" will be downloaded
from download.microsoft.com. That's why it is not necessary to upload the
installation files (.exe, .msi, .zip, etc.).

Here is a summary of what I do in this project:

You have already helped by filing an issue (see the section "Issue Tracking").
If you want to improve the repository there are also many other ways (see the
section "Updating repository").

Unlocker has AdWare:Win32/OpenCandy:
http://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/Threat/Encyclopedia/Entry.aspx?Name=Adw
are%3AWin32%2FOpenCandy

Although a low-risk alert, I would rather not like to change the rules for the
default repository.

Ashampoo Burning Studio 6 Free installer does not support the /DIR option
(cannot be installed in the predefined directory)

Well thanks for the info, for Unlocker I've used it and no problem so far, in
any case, if I may suggest an alternative: FileAssasin
http://www.malwarebytes.org/fileassassin.php
