Added hardware and filesystem alerting options when VPN is interrupted.
Added root user check to avoid glitches when Scheduled Task is incorrectly configured.
Slightly reorganized section headers so that function definitions are in their own section.

Trying this again… I was having trouble rebasing the previous PR, so I just zapped it and am working from a fresh version.
