command line script fails where hosted script succeeds

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. using the hosted script, import wordpress xml, only two errors
2. download tarball to Ubuntu 12.04 machine, generated xml produces hundreds of 
errors like the following:

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I noticed the hosted script did not translate youtube or google map embeds, but 
I also noticed the hosted script processed a 1.8MB output from a 3.2MB input 
file.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Ubuntu 12.04 using google-blog-converters-r89

Please provide any additional information below.
I have both the hosted and the command line generated XML files and can attach 
if these would be useful; I hesitate to attach them now because of the size of 
each.

I also see that the command line script has produced a great many duplicate 
postings, set on successive days
