This may be too crazy,

In order too maintain community active maybe it could be useful to add a
note to the bottom bar telling when a new version is available. Or possibly
a Tooltip coming off of the title bar.

Not too crazy, but I don't like those notes appearing. You know, TextRoom is 
about
writing, distraction-free. I believe that if software becomes better, everyone 
will
check the website.
