Problems during installation on Ubuntu

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. qmake-qt4  - work well
2. make - returns ""make: Nothing to be done for `first'."
3. make install - works and places a shortcut in the main menu.

Clicking the icon has no effect. In terminal - "textroom" returns that it
needs the "libsdl 1.2.13 and libsdl-mixer 1.2.8." to run.

can there be a dependency made so those would install automatically. 
Otherwise, that step should be part of the installation instructions. i.e.:
sudo apt get .....

I saw this just now. I solved the problem by searching for "sdl" on synaptic and
installing most of the developing packages and some that I found could be useful
and... voilá, I'm a very happy man now! :)

I'm glad you solved the problem. Until preparing a distro-specific package,
dependancy will be a annoyance. Sorry about that. Maybe someone likes to roll a
package for Ubuntu?
