At times, a client is kept around that doesn't show anything, whose properties are garbage and that didn't previously exist.

Apparently they are created by dunst. Further research is necessary.

However, not always. It seems like they are windows used internally by some applications that end up being added as clients and which don't react when xcb_kill_window'd.
