Define configuration, at first in the https://github.com/ibm-cloud-architecture/eda-rt-inventory-gitops repo (under local-demo) and then in this repo for tech academy lab point of view, so we can run instana locally to monitor a remote solution running on OCP, like the coc cluster named Rey where real-time-demo runs.
Once Instana is installed (note: Instana instances must have a public IP or DNS accessible from the monitored resources), user can monitor the Openshift cluster:
Access Instana instance
Go to "Deploy Agent "
Select Openshift monitoring tab; technology "YAML" ; insert the name of the Openshift Cluster and download the configuration.yaml to be deployed
Connect to the Openshift to monitor vi UI or OC CLI
Apply the configuration.yaml
Wait a couple of minutes to see the full results on the OCP cluster
