CIS, Load Balancer for VPC, and VPN for VPC are all services that currently use Certificate Manager... which is free. As I understand it, Secrets Manager is $299 per month, which is going to cause some grief for our customers.
The table on top does not mention this delta between CM and SM. It only shows the pro's.
There's no easy way around this unless a new pricing plan emerges by the time CM is deprecated.
We are trying to add some wording around our UI messages in these products as well.
Authentication
As of 10 February 2022, IBM Cloud Certificate Manager is deprecated. The strategic alternative for managing certificates in IBM Cloud is Secrets Manager. To maintain current functionality, be sure to migrate to Secrets Manager prior to 30 September 2022. Note that Secrets Manager is a separate product from VPN and will incur additional costs separate from VPN billing. Learn more
