From my perspective, this looks fine. However, I added the tools owner for review just in case someone objects or may have a strong opinion on it.

Thanks guys, handling both /var/run and /run would make backports easier, but /run exists since RHEL-7 and RHEL-6 with /var/run is close to the end of its lifetime, we should be OK.
