I think it's finally the time that the repo owner should say something:

Is this repo for cli tools that replaces old ones, or 'fancy' is the only requirement?

It was meant for replacements, or specialized tools that are better than the common system provided solution. 'Fancy' is definitely not a requirement. Thanks for the suggestion, but this really isn't a directly alternative to anything (you could stretch and argue it's an alternative to curl or whatever).. so I don't think it fits.
