Widgets disappearing when clicking on them under Kubuntu (Ubuntu KDE) #12

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Load widgets
2. click anywhere on them

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Confirming this.  I am having issues in Kubuntu 10.04.  Widgets do not load.  
I'd like to run the engine in debug mode, but 'Kludgets --debug' doesn't do 
anything.

Perhaps there are some missing (or conflicting) libraries?

Calendar will show the upper left corner, and as mtlfitdude states, clicking on 
it causes it to crash but continue running in the background.
