Introduced during WGJCDP meeting on April 2023.

Allow the inclusion of ancillary species sightings data which are recorded but not currently submitted; seals, shark and fish (e.g. basking shark and blue fin tuna), seabirds, etc.

There needs to be consistent within the database, if this change was to be made existing datasets may need to be updated to include these data which has a resourcing implication.

Final list of ancillary species is now available on the WG SharePoint Vocabulary_Sightings_Species%20list_v2.xlsx

What are the next steps needed to add these to the species vocabulary?

[x] Update the data template
[ ] Update the data standard document

Hi all. I wanted to check on progress of adding the additional species to the JCDP? Is there anything else needed for this to be implemented?

Has been implemented into the portal and template. Need to update the standard and promote the change
