Question about SSobservationActivityType for bycatch #158

The only thing we separate in our swedish database fd2 is if the bycatch is a dropout or not. So we do not know if a bycatch is from the sorting, Presorting or slipping. If I understand the SSobservationActivityType correctly we will still need to have all 4 since we know that we have observed all areas of the vessel. The problem is where to put the bycatch. Can you help us with that.

It is suggested to use 'Other' when the observations cannot be split in separat SS-records observations, e.g. a presort and sort observation where samples are taken from. The Core Group will later look into the option of uploading combined observation types, which are not split and potentially match the codes in the Fishing Operation tabel (which are combined codes e.g. ‘PrDrSlOt’).

@perjohannesson you can declare ‘SoPrDrSl’ in the FO table and then two rows in SL: "Dr" and "Other" do you think that will work?

I think we almost did it like that last year. But we just used SoPrDr and then two SS rows with Drop and Other. That worked for us. /Perry
