FOobservationCode to account non-sampled hauls #190

We are using H3 for our onboard samplimg for PETs.

In the table FO, we have to indicate the number of hauls sampled and the number of total hauls, by trip and FOobservationCode.

Often, we have a trip with non-sampled hauls. And I wonder to which observationCode shall we assign these hauls, so that the can be accounted in the number of total hauls,

Normally each metier has a default observationCode (que one which appears more often). And I think it could be assigned there. But some guidelines would be appreciated

Thanks

Why are the hauls not sampled? Is that because the observer sees that there are no PET in the haul, when the gear is pulled out of the water, and/or when the catch is on the deck?

In the trawlers, we have 4-5 days trips with hauls every 4 hours. There is always one haul a day that we don't sample becasue the observer is resting.

If the observer is working and sees no PETs during the differnet parts of the operation, we are considering it as a haul sampled for PETs (with zero individuals observed)

We will add 'None' No observation to the codes ObservationCode. Remember the FO table should only be filled by Trip and Sequence number not by (trip and ObservationCode).
