5 years ago Gentleman, your challenge is to look at these enhancements and determine what can be done in the current setup with ease, and what would entail a change in component/scripting approach to deal with the stylistic changes. Once we have this overview, we can then sit down and discuss the best way forward to tweak and compromise, or to break and optimize, and the effort/timeline required.
A critical point, that perhaps is not evident in the new style is that scalable graphics are important as the new graphs should work across formats/layouts.
At the request of the ACOM leadership, Olle has been looking at the presentation of graphs and how these could be improved to be optimized for a number of end uses (Web, Presentations, PDF).
In the attached PDF, Olle has exemplified the new look and style, with the following notes: • Higher color contrast within and between bars • Easier horizontal pan approximation of values due to tinted background • Consistent bar width and separation • Legend removed from data area • Thematic dominant color for each for fast identification and overall contrast in 2x2 view • No outlining of bars as this creates flickering
