I think it would be neat if one of our characters was a security guard for the building, and also an off-duty police officer. It could give us the chance to show, for one, the humorous perspectives of officers of the law; it could also help to show a wider perspective on what it means to be a member of the police force. In my opinion, this character should be slightly irreverent, but mostly stoic. His view of his "day job" should be that he went into that line of work to help people, and that it's only when the people in question make that impossible that he isn't 100% helpful. Kind of a modern day Andy Griffith, without the Deep South overtones. Side note: I think he needs to be an avid gamer. Platformers especially. Dude can rock out on some Mario.
