Fix #169 and upgrade vcxproj files to use Intel OneAPI

Overview

This pull request adds the following changes:

• fixes #169 (thanks to @ibaran73 for raising this and providing sample files).
• introduces a minor change to each project's vcxproj file to permit compilation using Intel OneAPI, which resolves #167.
