Test set-up

the test setup for the ventilator should allow for the required measurements (see e.g. #43 )

we received the Citrex H4 device

a description of the test setup and the definition of the basic tests is reported in the following

let's start with the hardware setup. the Citrex H4 is connected to the test lung (output, on the right) and to the "ventilator" branch at the input (left tubes) the input branch for the moment comprises:

• the inspiratory branch with:
  • several cascaded filters (to be used with compresed air to avoid contaminating the instrument with oil)
  • the water trap
• the output branch, with the PEEP valve but with free flow in it see picture

the Citrex can be accessed remotely

• connect a LAN cable
• on the touch, press 'X' as many times as it's needed to reach the network configuration
• set the configuration to DHCP-Client
• take note of the IP address
• on PC, launch Intenet Explorer and install Silverlight
• at this point you can type the IP address and go to the device you will be presented with a welcome screen like this:
• then opening the tabs configuration and monitor you can access respectively the configuration menu and the screen with plots and measured quantities

you can slide the window within the last 300 s acquired and regulate the window size from 2 s to ....I don't know.

other feaures:

• choice of the quantities to be plotted
• saving of screenshots with the graphs
• saving of the last measured data in a .csv log file

next step: what we want to test for sure:

• actuating a small subset of valves etc of the ventilator, check the consistency between measurements of the ventilator sensors and the Citrex one e.g. by letting a constant flow through the device (no lung attached)
• actuating the full cycle, comparison between the desired cycle and the actual one. please add comments
