Are you able to start the original BWHF Agent?

Original comment by icz...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 6:51

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What do you mean original? you mean the exe file?

Original comment by dynotoaq...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 7:16

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
You said you modified my sources.

Are you able to start the original (unmodified) BWHF Agent with the exe or with
the cmd files?

Original comment by icz...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 7:18

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Oh no, I redled bwhf after I installed the 32bit java, so I could rule any
changes I made as an error. I still couldn't load it, the same error and splash
screen came up.

Original comment by dynotoaq...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 7:20

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Please try starting it this way:

Open a command window (cmd.exe), navigate to the BWHFAgent folder, then execute
the exe or the cmd. Post the results.

Original comment by icz...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 7:23

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Well I opened a command window, first tried the exe then tried the cmd, neither
booted, and nothing appeared in the command window. Unless you wanted me to
boot from the command window.

Original comment by dynotoaq...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 7:29

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
No, I don't want you to boot from the command window.

Have you tried with the BWHFAgent-console.cmd?

Original comment by icz...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 7:39

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
I've also got a bit of an annoying problem, everytime I attempt to boot bwhf
and fail, the splash screen stays up. I want to assure that each attempt is
fresh, but I can't find it in processes and have to restart each time. Is there
a way to kill the attempt after it fails so I don't have to keep restarting?

Original comment by dynotoaq...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 7:40

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Look for the java.exe or javaw.exe to kill in the task manager to kill BWHF
Agent.

Original comment by icz...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 7:41

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Aight that's what I thought. I just retried the cmd prompt and got this error:

C:\users\_____\bwhf.exe 'bwhf.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external
command operable program or batch file.

C:\users\_____\boot 'boot' is not recognized as an internal or external command
operable program or batch file.

C:\users\_____\run:bwhf.exe the filename, directory name, or valume lavel
syntax is incorrect.

Original comment by dynotoaq...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 7:48

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
The program is called "BWHFAgent.exe" not "bwhf.exe". Try that.

Original comment by icz...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 7:50

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
As well as the same error I had from the cmd window when I start from cmd.

Original comment by dynotoaq...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 7:51

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
How do I change that?

Original comment by dynotoaq...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 7:51

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
You don't have to change anything. After you started a command window and
navigated to the BHWFAgent folder, start it by typing:

BWHFAgent.exe

Then press enter.

Original comment by icz...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 7:55

BwHFAgent.exe is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable
program or batch file.

Original comment by dynotoaq...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 7:57

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Then you failed to navigate to the BWHFAgent folder where you extracted it.

Original comment by icz...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 8:01

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What do you mean by navigate? Do you mean opening the folder or do you mean
typing the path to the BWHFAgent folder in the cmd prompt?

Please send me your BWHFAgent.cmd file. You can attach it here.

Also please enter the following command in the command line, and post the
result:

java -version

Now please execute the following 2 commands, and post the results (fist
navigate to the BWHFAgent folder of course):

Tip: the "dir /S" might have a long result. You can redirect it to a text file
and attach that with this: "dir /S >a.txt"

dir /S

cd

Original comment by icz...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 8:20

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
I think you may have skipped a step there? What do I do once I have navigated
to the folder?

Original comment by dynotoaq...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 8:24

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Open a terminal.

Navigate to the BWHFAgent folder.

Then type this command: "dir /S >a.txt". Then attach the a.txt file here.

Also type this command: "cd" and post the result here.

Original comment by icz...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 8:27

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
I keep getting errors trying to locate. Should my query look like this:

"C:\Users\username\Desktop\BWHFAgent\dir /S >a.txt" ??? or just stop at the /S?

Original comment by dynotoaq...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 8:34

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Just type this: "dir /S >a.txt" once you navigated to the BHWFAgent folder,
without the folder.

This is how you should do it:
"cd C:\Users\username\Desktop\BWHFAgent"
"dir /S >a.txt"

Btw, did you navigate to the folder with the "cd" command as I indicated above?

Original comment by icz...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 8:37

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Okay I've attempted both, I have written out the entire path to the folder as
well as kept it open, and when I type the short version in the terminal, just
'dir /S >a.txt' I it comes back blank, with C:\users\username\. And same goes
for cd. Trying the entire path gets me unknown program errors....

Original comment by dynotoaq...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 8:42

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
If your folder name contains spaces, you have to put in in quotes. For example:

cd "C:\Program Files"

Original comment by icz...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 8:53

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
When I typed:

cd C:\Users\Username\Desktop\BWHFAgent it changed my prompt to the path I
typed. I imagine that was your goal?

Original comment by dynotoaq...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 8:57

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Yes that's right. Now after that type this: "dir /S >a.txt" (without the
quotes).

The command will create a file named "a.txt". Attach that file here.

Original comment by icz...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 9:00

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
That is not creating a text file..is there a space between the /S and >a.txt?

Original comment by dynotoaq...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 9:02

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Yes, there is a space. I just tried this command, it works no problem.

If you can't get it to work, then do this at least:

Navigate to your BWHFAgent folder (cd command).

The type this: "dir", press enter, and make a screenshot of the command window.
Send/attach the screenshot.

Original comment by icz...@gmail.com on 16 Aug 2010 at 9:09

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Btw if you did everything correctly, the "a.txt" file would be in your
BWHFAgent folder.

Strange. I find everything ok.

Can you try to start "BWHFAgent-console.cmd" again from the command line, and
send me a screenshot of the error message? Thanks.

if my program could capture it, you'd see the splash screen in the window too
just above the cmd prompt.

I meant that in the command prompt where you entered and sent me the screenshot
of the dir command, now enter the BWHFAgent-console.cmd there, and take the
screenshot.

I assume you made this screenshot by launching BWHF Agent from your desktop.

But please run the BWHFAgent-console.cmd.

The console version prints error message to the command window, the other one
does not.

Is there any chance that you have multiple java installed? The 32 bit and the
64 bit version?

Can you look in your "C:\Program files" and "C:\Program files (x86)" if there
are a Java folder in both of them?

Original comment by icz...@gmail.com on 17 Aug 2010 at 5:30

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Ya I installed a 32 bit cuz you said in your error thing that it was necessary.

Original comment by dynotoaq...@gmail.com on 17 Aug 2010 at 5:36

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
And where the hell is (x86)?

Original comment by dynotoaq...@gmail.com on 17 Aug 2010 at 5:38

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
On 64 bit windows, there are 2 different Program files folders: one for the 32
bit applications, and 1 for the 64 bit applications. "C:\Program Files" is for
the 64 bit applications, "C:\Program Files "x86)" is for the 32 bit
applications.
