Not redirecting

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Pressing button "shorten"
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The shortened url. Instead I getNot Found

The requested URL /xxxx.me/b was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an 
ErrorDocument to handle the request

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2.4.2, Apache

Please provide any additional information below.

i get the same kind of error - simply doesnt shorten url - says index.php is 
access forbidden

I found out of the problem, I use Apple MacBook. The .htaccess file is a hidden 
file on Mac. Find a app to show it, to upload it.

Very good point to note - Macs, for some insane reason, do that, so you need to 
make sure .htaccess is uploaded.
