[TASK] remove numexpr dependency

Issue Description

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. numexpr was added as a dependency with 688cdd10102b2865f118c6ceeba2ec7a36610b66 but does not seem to be needed anymore. (It is not used directly, and so was apparently only included for other reasons.)

Describe the solution you'd like Remove numexpr from the dependencies.

Describe alternatives you've considered Leave it in.
