Not entirely sure what you're asking for, but have you tried either Roughdraft.io or Jekyll?
Yes, I have. Roughdraft seems to be basically the same as gist.io, and Jekyll is much more work to set up. So it would be great if gist.io could not only be used to prettify gists, but markdwn-files within a regular repository (no gist), too.
I looked around for something similar a while ago, after finding the Mac/IOS app The Journalist. I gave up and spent half an hour installing and learning enough Jekyll to get me by (directory structure and jekyll serve --watch
, primarily). If you find a usable alternative, that would be Interesting.

If anything, this should be a question on StackOverflow
Is there any way or an alternative website which can be used to display markdown files within a repository in the same way gist.io does?
