sipdroid doesn't exit

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. (using v1.6) Log in to sipdroid (and register with a pbx)
2. click "exit"
3. program hangs

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect the program to exit. Previous versions (<1.5) exited properly, but 
v1.6 just hangs until the android task manager kicks in and asks to kill it.

What version of the product are you using? On what device/operating system?
motorola xt720/android 2.1

Which SIP server are you using? What happens with PBXes?
freeswitch. nothing is registered in the pbx logs.

Which type of network are you using?
wlan.

Please provide any additional information below.
Again, this program used to work properly, but "hanging on exit" started after 
the recent upgrade to v1.6
