huge echo for other party when using sipdroid on Xperia x10i 2.1 #719

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. register a sip account with sipdroid on xperia x10i 2.1
2. call a number
3. the other party will get huge echo of their own voice

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

a clean voice on both sides but huge echo on the receiving side

What version of the product are you using? On what device/operating system?

version: 1.2.3
Device: Sonyericsson Xperia X10i
OS: Eclair 2.1

Which SIP server are you using? What happens with PBXes?

sip.smartvoip.com, no PBXes

Which type of network are you using?

both HSDPA and WiFi

Please provide any additional information below.

Hi, I also have this issue, I have set all of the settings to low, but the 
other end of the line get terrible echo. (Also with x10i)

I am also getting the same problem, x10 with 2.1 nordic firmware using the 
latest version of siproid with all the microphone and earpiece gains set to the 
minimum.

I also have the same problem with x10 2.1, sipdroid ver 2.2 beta.

I have the same problem.  I just set up sipdroid 2.3 beta on my Samsung 
Intercept with Android 2.2.2 and The_Last_Crap build of kernel 2.6.32.9.  My 
wife would hear what she said about 3 seconds later.
