To document our discussion on the 2023-05-11 telecon...

It would be useful to have the following options for image sizing:

actual -- take the provided image at its actual size. Cropped to the box if too large
fit -- scale the provided image up or down so that it fits within the box
cover -- scale the provided image so that it completely fills the box, cropping off any overhang

The default if no parameter is provided should be fit.
