Gitter chatroom for iDigBio? #20

I find that I do need to ask quick questions working on API client, and opening a ticket for them would be an overkill. What do you think about opening a gitter room for the hackathon? I found it very useful for my other projects. It is free for open source projects less than 25 people strong. Here is an example-- https://gitter.im/GlobalNamesArchitecture/GlobalNames?utm_source=share-link&utm_medium=link&utm_campaign=share-link

We could monitor a chat room during the hackathon but I think our daily work flows wouldn't give us the time we'd need to do synchronous communications at other times. Email or tickets would be best outside the hackathon. Or we can do scheduled calls or scheduled pair-programming.

+1 for a some chat solution for the event

I could potentially monitor / facilitate the chat in a gitter room. What about AC chat? (I'm not sure how many of those participating locally will be logged in). There's also Slack...

During the hackathon we will be using AdobeConnect chat and google docs to capture information, especially to allow remote participation. With the goal of trying to maintain all information in a single place, let's try to stay with AC (it worked well in the past with reasonably large groups).
