Describe the goal of the project.
To determine the likelihood of survival on the Titanic by sex, age, socio-economic status etc.
Describe the data used or collected.
The data regards general information about the passengers: their status, class, name , sex, etc. There is no source on the data. However, the team explicated that there exists an article which contains a similar data set and it is reasonable to believe that it came from a parliamentary report.
Describe how the research question will be answered, e.g. what approaches / methods will be used.
The team has outlined 3 hypotheses to test out that will answer their question: women are more likely to survive, there are more young survivors than old; and richer people have more chance of survival. Generally, they want to tackle these 3 hypotheses by establishing some linear regression and correlation coefficient. Specifically, they will be plotting appropriate plots to extract meaning from the data. There is some novelty like the Chi-square test in the first hypothesis.
Is there anything that is unclear from the proposal?
It is quite clear.
Provide constructive feedback on how the team might be able to improve their project.
The project is quite well thought out and I think personally that it is great!
What aspect of this project are you most interested in and would like to see highlighted in the presentation.
The statistical methods that have been outlined seem to go beyond the course. That is interesting and I think a brief overview of what they do would help the presentation.
Provide constructive feedback on any issues with file and/or code organization.
The code is well-organized.
