Repo sync fails: 'fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly' #58

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Environment:

repo version v1.6.8.9
       (from git://android.git.kernel.org/tools/repo.git)
git version 1.6.4.4
Python 2.6.4 (r264:75706, Jan 1 2010, 08:17:56)
[GCC 4.4.2]

Description:

After initializing a new repo (as per http://source.android.com/download)
without problem, I am unable to complete a successful 'repo sync' for all
projects. A sync for all projects works fine until it comes to the project
'platform/development', at which point it always fails with the error:

fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly
error: Cannot fetch platform/development

'Working' projects (such as those that are checked before development) can
be synced fine and give the expected behavior.

Background:

I first downloaded the source a bit more than a month ago; about 2-3 weeks
ago, this issue first popped up. In an attempt to fix this bug, I lost the
source that I had.

Okay,
I'm facing this issue since August 28th, so
it seems that that the repo server was hacked !
the main page http://android.git.kernel.org displays the following message:
Nothing to see here - only dreams of electric sheep
