In the TAPI model the non-FRU structures are modelled by explicit structure. In the ONF core there was a generalized nesting. It would be possible to use the simple component composition to deal with non-fru (where there are no relevant holders). The non-fru structure deals with circuitry that is essentially fixed on the containing circuitry but may have serial numbers or be relevant to position key functionality.
