The relationship is potentially complex. This warrants further discussion. We have a representation of aspects of this in TAPI and ONF core.

In ONF TAPI there is a clear decoupling of function from physical via a somewhat simplified intermediary (AccessPort). In ONF Core, there is a sophisticated model that deals with complex emergence of functions. A discussion on this aspect would be valuable, but this could be considered as separable from the modeling of physical capabilities and could be dealt with after the physical model is developed (so long as there is not pollution of the physical model with functional things.
