On author-tools, if one generates any of the four formats (text, HTML, XML, PDF) one is offered a "download" button, or one can click the less-prominent "open in web browser" link.
By contrast, "diff with latest" only displays in the browser. If one wants a copy to download, one has to click down to the "rfcdiff" tool and do it there.
It would be handy to offer download of the "diff with latest" results.
