Let me know what you think - we might have esthetic differences, or I might be going in a different direction than you want to go.
I added another directory of tests. Because of the way that baptest figures out how to -i stuff I ended up using symbolic links in the test directory. IIUC that will work on unix-based platforms but not on windows. So it may not be ideal to do that.
